  1. By converting the ‘The Raven’ to a rap it enables people who don't enjoy poetry to understand The Raven. This version is appealing to the younger generation, who most likely would prefer rap over poetry. By changing the words in the rap, and making them applicable to the 21st century it helps with the understanding, by keeping some of the original words, and similar story line, he has changed to ensure the audience remains interested and it is more appealing.

  2. 'The Raven' rap version, by MC Lars is meant to provide entertainment with an upbeat atmosphere, the audience is not necessarily listening to the lyrics but is carried by the pulse and beat of the music. The lyrics are performed somewhat contradictory to how they are meant to be expressed. The haunting, sombre tones are lost and MC Lars has added his own alterations to the words, making references to well known celebrities or to this generations way of life, speech, values and circumstances. This helps the poem be relevent to the type of audience and type of atmosphere in association with how it is being delivered.

  10. it was hard to understand still. but i am P-diddy so me and MC Lars are good mates so we connect on a deeper level. it would of been better live becaus ei couldnt hear hom that well and the audio wanst that good. it didnt make me understand it anymore than i already did. it would of been heaps better as a duet. because P-diddy as you all know is heaps great at bird noises and it could of really done with some bird noises to add efeect. the repetition of the main lines were good and easy to relate to as he used them over and over again and engaged the audience in his performance as every rapper should!
    anyway P-diddy out YEWWWWWWWWWWW

  20. The rap version of 'The Raven', performed by MC Lars, looses most of the true meaning, feel, and verses of the actual poem. it has been jopined with modern up-bet music which encourages the audience to feel the beat more than listening to the actual lyrics. there is a major repition of 'Mr Mr Raven', and 'who's rapping at my chamber door'. MC Lars expresses the weakness of the man and the power and control that the Raven has over the man "Mr Raven' s House". the constant rapping on the door symbolises annoyance and craziness, while the angels represent the death and lost of Lenore. the rap suprisingly does help us understand the initial meaning of the poem, it draws our attention to the majorly important points of the poem with the constant repetition, and the slight change of words and translation into a more modern form also helps the unserstanding.

  21. The Raven rap by MC lars helps people who don't enjoy poetry to perhaps understand or even appreciate The Raven. The artist constantly repeats "Who's that rapping at my chamber door" he uses it as a chorus and to highlight the fact that the old man is crazy (The contantly rapping on the chamber door drives you crazy) "Who's house?" "Ravens house" this could symbolise that the Raven is in control of the situation, because the man presents himself to be a vunerable old man who is still lonely and lost "I miss Lenore my Anabell Lee, taken by angels from me" This further confirms that his lost love Lenore is infact dead, you can tell this when he says "Taken by Angels". The audience isn't necessarily listening and taking in the lyrics or meaning of the lyrics, because as with any rap song, the music is drivien by strong beats and more effort on particular words. The artist adds his own lyrics to the poem, creating a more modern sense and meaning to the poem.
